Therapy for Lawyers in California

Online Across California with In-Person Sessions in West Los Angeles(Century City), El Segundo, and the South Bay.

The legal profession asks a lot from you. Long hours, constant pressure, difficult clients, the expectation to always perform, and the weight of other people's outcomes on your shoulders. Therapy is not a place where you have to hedge your thoughts or hold anything back. It's a place where you don't have to be certain, or confident, or consistent.

I work with lawyers across California who are dealing with burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, career pressure, relationship stress, and the emotional weight that often comes with practicing law.

Therapist in West Los Angeles

Therapist for Lawyers in Los Angeles and California

With over 10 years of experience as a therapist, I work with lawyers who are constantly navigating high-stakes situations, demanding workloads, difficult conversations, and the pressure of knowing that other people’s lives, finances, businesses, or futures may depend on the decisions they make.

Over time, that level of responsibility can affect how you relate to yourself, your work, and the people around you.

My approach focuses on asking questions that help us explore the stories and patterns shaping how you work, relate, and see yourself. Which stories are actually serving you, and which ones are not?

Together we examine the problematic ones and evaluate the merits of the case they are making against you. Is change called for, or does the case fall apart under scrutiny?

I offer in-person therapy for lawyers in West Los Angeles (Century City area) and El Segundo, along with online therapy throughout California.

Therapy for Lawyers

How Therapy Can Help Lawyers

The therapy space is a place with no deadlines, no competition, and a completely collaborative approach. Therapy is mental work, for sure, but it's also a break from the grind. It's a place where part of the work is to further connect with what matters most to you.

Manage the Pressure of High-Stakes Cases

The weight of other people's outcomes does not disappear when you close your laptop. Having a space to process that weight, rather than just carry it, makes a difference.

Create Better Work-Life Balance

When the boundary between work and everything else gets blurry, stress responses bleed over into parts of our lives that we’d rather keep separate. Part of the work is figuring out where that line is and how to actually hold it.

Reduce Perfectionism and Overthinking

Where is the line between high standards and worry that keeps you up all night? Should there even be a line, or is it best to be all-in?

We interrogate the assumptions behind needing to be perfect.

Improve Your Relationships

Work stress can be very difficult to contain, and it’s common for irritability to seep into the relationships we have outside of work.

Sometimes, just having a place to talk about what’s going on in your life is enough of a wall to keep your relationships safe.

Set Healthier Boundaries

What is the cost of being always available and responsive?

Together we take a hard look at whether or not it is worth it for you, and why or why not.

Feel More Like Yourself Outside of Work

When your job feels like it has become the dominant thing in your life, and you're not sure how you feel about your job, life can feel like a trap with little space for the things we used to enjoy. Therapy can help you reconnect with the parts of life that bring you joy and satisfaction.

Online Therapy for Lawyers Across California

Online Therapy for Lawyers Across California

Lawyers rarely have a predictable schedule. Court appearances, deadlines, client demands, and last-minute changes can quickly take over the day, making it difficult to consistently prioritize your own well-being.

Online therapy removes the commute and offers more flexibility around when sessions happen. Early morning appointments are available, which works well for attorneys who prefer to handle personal priorities before the day takes over.

I provide confidential online therapy for lawyers across California through a secure virtual platform, including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Orange County, San Jose, and surrounding areas.

Common Questions About Counseling for Lawyers

  • Yes. I work with lawyers, attorneys, and other high-performing professionals across California who are dealing with stress, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, and the emotional demands that can come with practicing law.

  • That is something we can work around. Session frequency is flexible and can be adjusted based on your schedule and what works best for you.

  • Therapy is mostly thoughtful conversation, punctuated hopefully by laughter and stories. I’m not here to tell you how to live or judge you or analyze you. Instead, I ask questions designed to invite reflection and produce new knowledge, and we go from there. There is no pressure to go deep right away, and the pace is yours to set.

  • Some people notice shifts in a few sessions. They feel lighter, have a clearer head, less reactivity at home, and more perspective on something that felt stuck. Some people come in with one narrow issue and they’re done in a session or two. Some questions take longer to address. What I can tell you is that therapy is not indefinite by design. The goal is to make itself less necessary over time. Many people find that after stopping regular sessions, it’s helpful to meet occasionally when a big life decision or event comes up.
